The Redmond's spend most of their time helping others. 

 Kendall is a soldier that has just finished serving a year in Iraq.  Just before he was to return home in May with his unit, he was in a car accident that left him with some brain trauma.  Now he is waiting for an unknown time in Texas before the doctors will release him to come home. He is a security officer at UVSC when he is home. 

Sarah is a stay at home mom of four kids.  She spends extra ( ha ha) time helping the kids teachers at school and is also a Scout Leader in our community.  She is always volunteering to make meals for others in need and she helped me personally clean my home when I was moving to a new one and watch my kids while I was cleaning it too.

They have three boys from age 10 to 4 and a daughter that is not quite 2 who hardly even knows her dad because he has been serving our country most of her life. 

They live in a home built in the 1800's.  It is made of adobe brick and there have been several additions put on in the past.  It is very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. They use space heaters to keep the kids rooms warm.   The kitchen is tiny and there is not really a place for the family to eat dinner together. 

I have never heard them complain.  Sarah always has a smile for everyone and she is constantly on the look out for someone else to help.  They are such a benefit in our community and a blessing to any lives they touch.  I would love for this family to be touched and blessed for all they do for others.

I know the Redmonds have already been nominated, but there is more to their story. They are very kind and loving family and they care about their friends, neighbors, and community. They are willing to help anyone and everyone whether they know them personally or not. Their story is one of love and friendship. They are great parents with great kids. What the other story doesn’t tell you is their roof is falling in. My husband tried to patch up some spots to help the leaking but the entire roof needs to be replaced and my husband said it won’t last another winter. The heating system is the old boiler and it broke down last winter when the husband was in Iraq and could not be fixed or replaced because they don't have those any more. They mother and four kids all slept in one room with space heaters to keep warm. The house has foundation problems and the out building witch used to be a grain silo is hazardous.  The husband felt the need to defend his country and ultimately his family so he enrolled in the armed forces. He went to Iraq for a year and was scheduled to return home in May. He was injured in an accident right before he was to come home. He hit his head so extremely hard that his helmet broke in two pieces. He was flown to Germany for immediate care then sent to Texas where he is today. He sustained Sevier brain trauma and couldn't communicate for a long time. He is recovering but no on knows if he will regain full function or when he will be able to come home.  I love these people and was heartbroken by their story. I feel no one deserves help more. Thank you
