Bennett Family Our Story

If you could handpick your children I couldn't have been more luckier than to have a daughter that is so loving, caring, selfless, strong, and patient.  Nine years ago she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.  In time we found out that he was developmental delayed, autistic and epileptic.  Over the course of 6 years he was in and out of the hospital constantly.  During this time her father had a stroke and her sisters house burned down.  Even though she had these problems with her child she was still there to help remodel the bathrooms for her father and help her sister with caring for her children so she could get things done.  My husband and I moved out of state but kept the house for our daughter because it is better for Dakota to stay in the same area where he is familiar with the surroundings.  Since then Natasha has had two more children but she still continues to help everyone else letting herself come last.  She is always there in a moments notice to help.  She has struggled with finances due to all the medical bills so her house has been quite neglected.  We try to help as much as we can but we are also on a limited income.  My husband is retired and I still work but we also have a substantial amount of medical bills.  We don't ask for alot but this time I believe our daughter is very deserving.  She is very simple and just would appreciate her bathrooms being redone.  Thank you for your vote

Another concerned Friend - Please add this to the existing story

I am adding to the above request.  This home was built in the 1960's and has the original plumbing and electrical.  There are constantly problems with the plumbing overflowing which has created several catastrophes.  Natasha's mother had the heat vents cleaned to see if that would help with the children getting sick.  They told her that it had mold in the heater vents and gave her an estimate which she cannot afford to pay.

Because of the flooding from the upstairs bathroom there is mold around the edges of the walls in the basement.  In several rooms the lights no longer work because of shorting out or the switches don't work.  Natasha and her mom have done alot of the work by themselves but they really don't like to work with electrical

In the winter their heating bill goes up to 200-250 a month because there is no insallation in the ceiling or walls.

Natasha never complains she just keeps struggling.  Back in Aug 2007 her mother deployed to IRAQ with the Fighter Squadron that she works for.  Natasha made sure that everything was taken care of.  Because her father is in a wheel chair and paralyzed completely on the right side he needed to be checked on everyday and dinner meals prepared.  She paid the bills, cleaned the house even while taking care of her two boys and getting ready to give birth to her 3rd child at the end of September.  This girl is miraculous!!!

Her home is quite adequate for her family but does need a few touch ups.  The garage is leaking and may fall in any day.  The back patio is leaking and probably won't make it through this next winter.  Her main bathroom needs just a little reworking like the bath tiles and handles on the fixtures.  The bathroom off the master bedroom needs some finishing.  The shower is inoperable because when her father had his stroke they were never able to finish the shower.  Natasha and her mother tried to complete it but they were not able to get the base and plumbing to match up.  The water pressure in the sink is very very low.  The downstairs bathroom works except for the shower because it leaks out the door and gets everything saturated so they do not use it.  There are a few doors and door jams that need to be replaced also.

The brick on the outside of the house needs to be remortared in places and a railing needs to be put on the front and back stairs for the children especially her special needs son Dakota.

I have never seen such a close knit family and a family that will do for others before they do for themselves.  I have one picture where Natasha's mother did a fundraiser to help with the Palisade Pals for special needs children.  She raised 1,500.00 plus to give to them so they can continue doing for these children.  The love they have for each other is what keeps them all surviving and thankful for what they do have.  This family is so deserving of someone else doing for them.

 Thank you
