Schulthies Family Our Story
My husband and I just bought our first home and are on a fixed budget. The house is in need of a major makeover! Two tones of paint were used throughout the home, however, the previous owners did not tape it off so there are gaps between the walls and ceilings that are different colors. The hwole house needs to be repainted. There are holes in the walls and doors. There are cracks in the windows. New tile was put in, however the edges were not finished. The screen door to the back yard is broken and missing a handle.
We budgeted for some fix ups and decided to start with the master bedroom. I chose the paint colors, red and tan and sent my husband to the home improvement store to pick them up. Much to my dismay he painted the walls red and gold. Yes, gold! A bright, bling, bling gold. It's hideous! You walk in and think McDonalds, but you are not loving it. My husband loves the Chinese culture having served an LDS mission to Taiwan and going to school for a semester at the Beijing language and Culture University, but this is WAY too much!
While I was out of town for the weekend, he decided our room would look better if he painted all of the doors white. This only makes the gold stand out even more. To top it all off my husband "surprised" me with a six week old puppy. This in addition to my nine month old daughter that I take to physical therapy once a week, and have to work with several times a day and wears a helmet.
Even if I don't win, all wives need to accompany their husbands when he picks up the paint at the home improvement store.
